Note: Audio files for the CDs are in ZIP archive folders. PC users can use the built-in Windows functionality or third-party software like 7-Zip to unzip the archives. Mac users can simply double-click the zip file to extract its contents using the native Archive Utility. Step-by-step instructions are included in these ZIP folders to help you install and use the CD burning software needed to create physical CDs from the downloaded files. As an alternative, there are also individual MP3 files for each track.

Note: If you have previously purchased and performed under a small license, but your choir now requires a standard license, you may purchase an upgrade license.

Most downloads in your Digital Production Kit are ZIP archives containing PDF documents, MP3 audio files, or CD image files (BIN/CUE). Extract the ZIP file before using the contents.

  • Windows: Right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All, or use 7-Zip.
  • Mac: Double-click the ZIP file to extract it using the built-in Archive Utility.

PDF files can be opened with any PDF viewer, and MP3 files can be played with any media player.

Gapless Playback (Split Tracks)

For seamless playback without gaps between tracks, we recommend players that support true gapless playback.

Windows

  • Windows Media Player
  • foobar2000
  • MusicBee

Mac

  • Apple Music
  • VOX

Not recommended: VLC Media Player (Windows) and QuickTime Player (Mac), as they may insert brief gaps between tracks.

Download Formats

The Listening CD and Stereo/Split Tracks CD each include separate ZIP downloads.

Listening CD

  • CD Image Files (BIN/CUE) – Create a physical audio CD (large download).
  • Stereo MP3 – Individual MP3 tracks.

Stereo/Split Tracks CD

  • CD Image Files (BIN/CUE) – Create a physical audio CD (large download).
  • Stereo Tracks MP3 – Music only (no vocals), for performance.
  • Split Tracks MP3 – Vocals on the left channel, accompaniment on the right.

Tip: If you have trouble downloading the larger BIN/CUE archive or do not need to create a physical CD, simply use the MP3 version instead.

Rehearsal Markers

Only the physical CD includes rehearsal marker points (on most split-track songs). The MP3 versions do not include rehearsal markers, but you can pause and manually change the playback position as needed.

Creating a Physical Audio CD (BIN/CUE Files)

Use the BIN/CUE files included with your download to create a standard audio CD.

THE PERILS OF PAUL!

Performance time: Approx. 45 minutes (full) 35 minutes (condensed)
For Ages: 6-18
Speaking Parts: 17-25
Soloists: Annanias, and several other solos that can be assigned to any choir member, and some spoken solos by Hillbilly and others.
Costumes: All Biblical characters should wear Biblical costumes. Okra, Al or Ally, the Stage Manager, and the Commercial Kids should dress in modern clothes. Pontificatus, Errata and the Tourists can wear Biblical or modern costumes. Either works. If you choreograph dancers (Boopy Doopers) for the “Perils of Paul” song and “Reprise,” a uniform with colorful added collars works very well.
Necessary Props: Stage Manager: A wireless microphone headset. A clipboard with a script attached and a pen. A stool to sit on at the side of the stage. Al or (Ally) Literate: Signs to hold up when an audience response is needed that say Applause and Ooooh! Paul: Two costumes; one normal Biblical, and one that is exactly the same or similar that has been ripped in places with red paint stains all over to depict blood. Dr. Luke: A Doctor’s bag with basic Doctor’s items; stethoscope, tongue depressor, and bandages. (He can wear the stethoscope around his neck) Caiaphas: A neck brace. Commercial Kids: For the “Pizza” song two or more pizzas and a sign that says “Mahoney’s Pizza.” White chef hats for each child along with gingham neckerchiefs are encouraged. You can purchase real looking pizzas from Iwasaki Images for the price of 2-3 large pizzas and order any topping(s) for it you desire. They even have anchovies. They are very durable and last forever! For the “Shoe” song, any kind of shoes will do. Vests are a great way to make this group uniform for this song. Tourists: Cameras, backpacks and any other tourist type of paraphernalia. Soldiers and Angry Jews: Swords. The Jews can also have clubs, axes or other plastic weapons. The Road to Damascus Kids and Paul: Stick Horses, a thin plywood painted door, bed (or Human Bed is preferred. Check out the video to see The Human Bed and the fun choreography for it!). A pillow, comforter or bedspread is needed, whatever kind of bed you choose. Other suggested items are: A sign that says “Damascus” with an arrow pointing the direction you have set it to be. A cartoon painted Sun and a cloud made from foam-core. These are all extra things that will make the song come to life in its own special way!

THE PERILS OF PAUL!

Set: The entire musical occurs on one TV show set, so a single backdrop suffices. Make it fancy or plain as you like.
Elaborate: Desk and plush chair for Okra. Couch and/or plush chairs for guests. Artificial trees or plants. Painted city backdrop. Banner for “The Okra Windmill Show.”
Simple: No desk, basic chair. Simple chairs for guests. Use plants if wanted. Hang curtains or sheets.

Example stage setup: This sample image shows one possible way to stage the musical. Use it as a visual reference and adapt it to fit your available space, cast size, and production needs.
